Steampunk eggs / Стиймпънк яйца

Ето го и моят поглед към Великденските яйца. Направих ги за Великден и за работилничките, които водя в ателието. Разбира се имат много чаркове, ръжда и състаряване. Едни такива фантазьорски са, но са си мои :)

These are some Steampunk eggs I made for Easter and the workshops I teach at the art center. Of course they have tons of gears, rust and patina. They are so crazy, but they are mine :)

 

Едно платно с плат, ръжда и патинирала мед / One canvas with fabric, rust and patina copper

Искам да споделя с вас един експеримент, с който се забавлявам от определено време. Много ми се искаше да изпробвам втвърдител за плат. Нямах идея какво искам да правя с него и може би затова отлагах от много време да си купя такъв. Но ето, че случайно попаднах на един специален втвърдител за плат, който служи основно при правене на скулптури и реших да се хвърля в дълбоките води.

Освен плат, в платното вградих различни джунджурийки от метал, картон, хартия, дантела и какво ли още не.
Ефектът, който се надявам да съм успяла да постигна е на патинирала мед с мъничко ръжда тук таме за разкош.
Използвах уникалните бои DecoArt Traditions Artist Acrylic: Quinacridone Gold & DecoArt Traditions Artist Acrylic: Blue green light, малко тъмно кафява боя на PentArt и вакс паста Месинг.
Влюбена съм и в един нов продукт на Prima Marketing - Finnabair Memory Hardware Artisian Powder PARTHENAY и я използвах, за да състаря надписа и да откроя някои части от платното. Великолепен продукт!

I want to share with you one experiment, I have been making for some time. I wanted to work with fabric hardener for some time but as I did not exactly know what I want to do with it, I never bought is. So some days ago I finally found the exact product I needed that is intended for sculpturing with fabric and I immediately plunged into the deep waters :)

I used the unique paints DecoArt Traditions Artist Acrylic: Quinacridone Gold & DecoArt Traditions Artist Acrylic: Blue green light, PentArt dark brown acrylic paint and wax paste Bronze.
I am also in love with a new product by Prima Marketing - Finnabair Memory Hardware Artisian Powder PARTHENAY and used it to age the sentiment as well as highlight some areas. It is amazing powder!
Apart from fabric I incorporated different decorative elements as lace, metal, chipboard, paper flowers and many more. The effect I tried to accomplish is patina copper with little rust for splendor.
I will teach this month a workshop for this canvas at the Dvete elshi art center.

Микс медия по Валентински / Mixed media canvas with a Valentine's taste

Знаете си ме, аз съм по кафявото и ръждицата, но все пак веднъж в годината ми става леко розово покрай празника на влюбените. Принципно не го харесвам, защото смятам, че всеки ден трябва да се обичаме и да си обръщаме внимание и да празнуваме любовта, особено когато е истинска. Но все пак празникът идва, а и на 30ти Януари ще гостувам отново на АМГ Вижън (naborsata.com) и трябваше да спретна нещо микс медийно по Валентинска рецепта. Та представям ви моето Валентинско пано.

Сърцето в средата е от самосъхнеща глина, нарочно направено да е напукано и по-криво ;)
Цялото платно е минато с релефни и моделиращи пасти (обичам DecoArt моделиращата паста) и е пръскано с прекрасните спрейове за микс медия на Cadence (имайте едно наум да си лакирате платното след спрейовете и преди да слагате акрилна боя или нещо друго, защото пускат цвят). Този ВЕЛИКОЛЕПЕН фон стана само с две цвята - Light green и Fuchsia! Прекрасни са и съм много доволна!

За по-подробна рецепта, най-официално ви каня да се забавляваме на 30ти Януари от 10:30 часа в демонстрационния център на АМГ Вижън :)

You know me, I am into brown and rust, but once in a year I feel more pinky because of St. Valentine's Day. I don't like this holiday because I think that we should love and respect each other, pay attention to each other and celebrate our true love each and every day, not just once in a year. But Valentine's day is coming and I will again be teaching in AMG Vision (naborsata.com), so I had to make something Mixed media with a Valentine's taste ;) So here it is.
The heart in the middle is made of air drying clay and it is intentionally made to be cracked and not perfect. The whole canvas is primed with modelling pastes (I love DecoArt one) and the background is made with the gorgeous mixed media sprays of Cadence (please bear in mind to seal the sprays with varnish before putting acrylic paint or anything else, because they bleed color even when dry). This AMAZING background is made with only 2 colors (Light green and Fuchsia), can you believe it! I am in love with those sprays!

DecoArt tutorial - Pocket watch with copper and patina effects

For today's tutorial with DecoArt products as a Helping artist, I have prepared for you a:

Pocket watch with copper and patina effects 

Supplies:

DecoArt Media® Fluid Acrylics

Burnt Umber (DMFA03)

DecoArt Media® Antiquing Creams

English Red Oxide (DMM154)

Patina Green (DMM152)

DecoArt Metallic Lustre®

Iced Espresso (ML06C)

Gold Rush (ML02C)

Copper Kettle (ML01C)

Primers, Sealers, and Finishes

Matte Medium (DMM20)

Ultra-Matte Varnish (DMM24)

Other supplies

Wooden shape of a pocket watch

Chipboard gears and other Steampunk shapes

Sizzix Bigz dies with gears, clocks and other Steampunk shapes

Chipboard

Metal gears and elements for decoration

Strong glue (Ranger Glossy Accents or alternative)

Brushes

 

Cut different Steampunk shapes (gears, watch parts, etc.) from chipboard using a die-cut machine (best with Szzix Bigz dies as they cut chipboard very easily). You can use also already cut chipboard elements.  Glue all the elements on the wooden pocket watch using DecoArt Matte medium – a very versatile product for many uses – from creating film between different mediums and paints to gluing.

Wait until it fully dries and cut all the excess parts with a scissor or a precise knife.

Paint the watch covering all parts carefully with DecoArt Media® Fluid Acrylics Burnt Umber.

 

To create the copper effect drip here and there DecoArt Media® Antiquing Cream English Red Oxide. The texture is very fluid like, so it is very easy to work with.

 

 

Use a brush to spread the cream and a baby wipe to soften the edges and to take off any excess. The antiquing creams have the great ability to be changed before sealing with a varnish.

 

Don’t cover all the watch. We still need to see the brown underneath.

 

Repeat the same process with the next Antiquing cream – Green patina.

 

  

Use the same color of Antiquing cream also for the metal expression. As the cream is very fluid it will stay only on the bottom of the words, creating a beautiful patina effect. Wipe the metal with a baby wipe.

Seal all the watch with Ultra-Matte Varnish to stop the Antiquing creams bleed or change further.

 

 

Use different colors of DecoArt Metallic Lustre® to make all the parts pop-up.

 

Glue all the decorative parts with a strong glue like Ranger Glossy accents or another alternative.
